Summary :

We were contacted initially by our client’s daughter who wanted to fulfill her older parent’s request of remaining in their own home as long as they were able to use the assistance of in-home care services, rather than moving to an institutional living facility. Their one level rambler was actually ideal for their situation, except for the bathroom bathing areas. With short-term use needed and long-term universal appeal in mind, we worked quickly and conservatively in the small master bathroom to create an easier bathing access.

A slide-by shower door, crumbling tile walls and old floor pan were removed. We installed support backing and new grab bars, a new shower stall surround, and new rough-in and finish plumbing provided temperature controlled lever handled fixtures, with the handheld conveniently placed immediately available to a seated individual in an attractive, low-maintenance shower surround. The small stone & glass tile border running around the top of the shower surround provides further water erosion protection for standing users while adding a simple decorative element to the user-friendly space!
