RECOGNIZED EXPERTISE IN KITCHEN & BATH DESIGN

Saint Louis Park, Minnesota (June 2009) –Laura L. Orfield-Skrivseth of Orfield Design & Construction, Inc. in Saint Louis Park announced that she has earned certification as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD) from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), the leading trade association for the kitchen and bath industry.

Amy L. Brogan of Orfield Design & Construction, Inc. in Saint Louis Park announced that she has also earned certification as an Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer (AKBD) from the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), the leading trade association for the kitchen and bath industry.

The premiere hallmark for kitchen and bath professionals, NKBA Certification is based on written examinations and industry experience. Certified Designers must undergo a rigorous process to qualify for certification. They must demonstrate a set number of years of experience in the industry and/or as a kitchen/bath designer, must pass an intensive, comprehensive examination to prove their competency, must adhere to a strict Code of Professional Conduct, and must continually further their education by earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs). They must abide by the Certification Policies and Procedures as set forth by the Board of Directors and must annually register with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA). The AKBD certification recognizes achievement in the competencies necessary for both kitchen and bathroom design. The proficiencies required for the AKBD enhance an individual’s kitchen and bath career whether they are in industry sales, design, or manufacturing.

Only individuals who have met these requirements can call themselves “Certified” in kitchen/bath design. They alone are entitled to use the term “Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer”. These individuals have proven themselves to be not only exemplary designers, but exemplary professionals, who demonstrate the utmost dedication to the kitchen and bath industry.

This combination of experience and education ensures that both Laura L. Orfield-Skrivseth, AKBD, and Amy L. Brogan, AKBD are trained, qualified professionals in the kitchen and bath industry. As a member of the NKBA, Laura L. Orfield-Skrivseth, AKBD, is Vice President/Owner as well as Designer/Project Manager at Orfield Design & Construction, Inc. Fulfilling a vital role, Amy L. Brogan, AKBD is Designer/Project Manager with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at Orfield Design & Construction, Inc.
