After Orfield Design

Nothing says “welcome home” as well as an open and inviting front entrance, and that was the challenge encountered on this existing rambler. It was built following the “less is more” approach to such an extent that the utility side door was often confused for the main entrance. To change this around the main entrance was heightened and widened and 8” tapered columns sitting on limestone buff plinths support the new gable-end curved beaded ceiling portico. New wood stained front doors were installed with curved transom overhead. The exterior curved ceiling was carried through to the interior sheetrock vestibule ceiling. A combination of recessed and soffit lighting were gracefully used. A new wood stained garage door and side entrance door were also installed to complement the whole front façade update.
