Scope & Objectives :

This 1920’s Arts and Crafts home was too small for this newly extended family. The kitchen had been haphazardly remodeled sometime in the 1950’s and had extremely dated amenities and fixtures as well as a poor functional layout. The remaining home and unfinished basement and bland rooms were just too small and didn’t allow for all the family activities, nor was it a true reflection of their interests. Therefore, we added a side stucco family room addition, large master suite addition with ¾ bath with private walkout patio, performed a full kitchen remodel, and made various other 1st and 2nd floor alterations by removing walls and adding archways, storage, a powder room, and custom railings. We also designed and added custom fireplace surrounds and built-ins in several rooms and finished the basement family room with a gas fireplace. A 2nd floor dormer addition for a full general bathroom and relocation of the rear stucco garage with potting shed addition rounds out the list of overall work performed.

In a collaborative effort, cabinets and surfaces were made in the Art Deco, Art Nouveau style personally accented by the owners’ collections of antiques, stained glass windows, and retro furniture. The challenge was to blend the above home style and owners collectable styles in a manner that would deem it artistic and refreshingly diverse
