Summary :

This is one of many projects we’ve performed for this client & their extended family. Their beautiful home in an up-scale neighborhood has simple improvements that incorporate modern amenities with the original 1940’s home architectural details.

The former claustrophobic bathroom was completely remodeled & bumped into the unusually spacious adjacent bedroom by only two feet. The small increase in square footage gave the 2nd floor bathroom a much larger feel; allowing it to contain a deep soaking tub, separate neo-angle tiled corner shower, custom vanity, & WC, reflecting a balance between both masculine & feminine elements.

The two half walls & shower curb are capped with Carrera Marble to match the vanity top, & a framed glass surround allows a clear view of the subway tile & custom herringbone framed pattern in the shower. High-end finishes such as Sign of the Crab St. Lawrence porcelain & chrome cross handle showers & water controls, along with painted wood bead-board wainscot & hex tile flooring maintain the homes traditional elegance. Simple louver shutters on the double hung window, a detailed under-mount sink, & rich Lyptus wood vanity stained cherry, woodwork in high contrast with the dark blue walls, & a commissioned painting over the tub all blend to create an arresting master bathroom.

Their Angie’s List report was that this “project was planned & designed very well. The project was on schedule & on target with budget”. They tease each other that Now the debate is who is at fault for waiting so long....” in deciding to move forward with the remodel project!
